Who this covers

Coinaroo (“we”) is a family habit app for parents and children. Parents operate the app. This policy covers the iOS and Android apps and this website (coinaroo.co).

On one device, no account

If you never sign up, family data stays on that phone or tablet: child profiles, tasks, rewards, coin balances, streaks, and settings. We do not receive that data.

If you create or join a household

Optional cloud sync lets more than one parent share the same household. Then we collect:

• The parent account: email, name, and a password we store as a secure hash
• Household details: name, invite code, members
• Synced family records: child profiles (including first name, age, and avatar), tasks, rewards, transactions, streaks, challenges, and settings
• Technical logs needed to run the service (for example, that a signed-in device synced)

We use this only to provide the app: sign-in, sync, support, and (if you enable them) push notifications about household activity such as a completed task.

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

Coinaroo complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The app is for families and is operated by a parent or guardian. It is not directed at children using it on their own.

• Children under 13 do not create accounts, sign in, or enter an email. A parent adds each child profile.
• On one device with no account, child profile data (first name, age, avatar, tasks, coins) stays on that device. We do not receive it.
• If a parent creates or joins a household, we store the child profile information that parent entered so the household can sync. That is collected from the parent, not from the child.
• We do not use children’s data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or selling.
• We do not let children post publicly, message strangers, or share a profile off the device.
• We do not send a child’s name, age, or device ID to Amazon, Target, or any ad network.

A parent can review or delete a child profile in Settings, or email privacy@coinaroo.co to delete a household. If you believe we have information about a child that should not be there, use that same address. We will promptly delete it.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal information.
• We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
• We do not use advertising trackers to follow you across other apps.

Retailer and affiliate links

Parents may choose a real product as a reward. If we provide a link to Amazon, Target, or another retailer, tapping it opens that retailer’s site or app. We may earn a commission on a qualifying purchase. We describe that in our affiliate disclosure.

We do not send a child’s name, age, or device identifier to those retailers so they can advertise. The retailer will have its own privacy policy for the purchase itself.

This website

coinaroo.co is a static site. We do not run an advertising pixel on it. Your browser may send a standard request log to whoever hosts the site (page, time, IP). We do not use that to build profiles of children.

How long we keep data

On-device data lasts until you delete it or uninstall the app. Household data on our servers lasts while the account is active. If you ask us to delete a household, we remove or de-identify it except where we must keep a record (for example, a brief security log).

Security

Accounts use hashed passwords and signed-in access to only your household. Devices also have their own passcode or biometrics. No method is perfect; we work to keep household data limited to the parents in that household.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date on this page. If a change is material, we will say so in the app or by email to the account address when we can.
