Coinaroo

You can use Coinaroo on one device with no account. If you create a household, we store that household so parents can sync. The app also sends an anonymous install ID, usage counts (how many kids, rewards, and tasks — not names), and anonymous product events (which screen opened, that a task was completed — not titles or names). We cannot tell who you are or link your devices together. We do not sell data, run ads, or send children’s names, ages, or device IDs to retailers. We follow COPPA: children do not create accounts, and a parent controls every child profile.
Coinaroo (“we”) is a family habit app for parents and children. Parents operate the app. This policy covers the iOS and Android apps and this website (coinaroo.co).
If you never sign up, family data stays on that phone or tablet: child profiles, tasks, rewards, coin balances, streaks, and settings. We do not receive names, ages, or anything that identifies your family.
We do receive anonymous usage data so we can see that the app was installed and how the product is used. That is described below.
The app may send two kinds of anonymous usage data, both keyed by the same random identifier created on that device (it is not an advertising ID, and it is not reused on other devices):

We do not send names, emails, ages, avatars, task or reward titles, household or account IDs, advertising IDs (IDFA), or a device location with that usage data. We cannot tell which devices belong to the same family, and we cannot connect an anonymous install to a signed-in household.

We use this only to provide the app: sign-in, sync, support, and (if you enable them) push notifications about household activity such as a completed task.
Coinaroo complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). The app is for families and is operated by a parent or guardian. It is not directed at children using it on their own.
A parent can review or delete a child profile in Settings, or email privacy@coinaroo.co to delete a household. If you believe we have information about a child that should not be there, use that same address. We will promptly delete it.
Parents may choose a real product as a reward. If we provide a link to Amazon, Target, or another retailer, tapping it opens that retailer’s site or app. We may earn a commission on a qualifying purchase. We describe that in our affiliate disclosure.
We do not send a child’s name, age, or device identifier to those retailers so they can advertise. The retailer will have its own privacy policy for the purchase itself.
coinaroo.co is a static site. We do not run an advertising pixel on it. Your browser may send a standard request log to whoever hosts the site (page, time, IP). We do not use that to build profiles of children.
On-device data lasts until you delete it or uninstall the app. Household data on our servers lasts while the account is active. Anonymous product events stay in our Amplitude account until we delete them or Amplitude’s retention window ends. If you ask us to delete a household, we remove or de-identify it except where we must keep a record (for example, a brief security log).
Accounts use hashed passwords and signed-in access to only your household. Devices also have their own passcode or biometrics. No method is perfect; we work to keep household data limited to the parents in that household.
If this policy changes, we will update the date on this page. If a change is material, we will say so in the app or by email to the account address when we can.
